John C. Kenny
John C. Kenny, firm founder, has been practicing law in the State of Florida for over 17 years. Mr. Kenny graduated from Florida State University with Bachelors Degree in 1990 and obtained his Jurist Doctorate Degree from Florida State University College of Law in 1994. Over the last 17 years he has focused his practice on complex and challenging family law cases.
Mr. Kenny's extensive litigation experience includes divorce cases, child support, alimony and paternity cases.
Understanding the needs of our clients requires listening to each person’s specific goals. It is also helpful to have practical parenting experience, in addition to the rigors of litigation, in understanding the challenges children can present in family law cases. Mr. Kenny and his wife have two children, ages nine and seven, from which lessons are taught each and every day - lessons Mr. Kenny can bring to the courtroom.
Apart from learning new parenting skills with his own children, as well as litigation skills honed in the courtroom, Mr. Kenny is continually applying his efforts to improve our local community. As both the founder and past president of the several non-profit organizations including the Midtown Merchants Association and the Midtown 13, Mr. Kenny remains committed to making Midtown Tallahassee a better place to live, work and enjoy.
In addition to these non-profit organizations , Mr. Kenny has spent countless hours as a Teen Court Judge, and assisting our local high schools teams with Mock Trials, as well as advocating for a better community for these youths.
Being invested in our local community, whether it is with Midtown, teenagers, or his own family allows Mr. Kenny to better understand the needs of his clients.

Choosing a Lawyer
The decision to hire a lawyer is a very personal one - one with many financial implications. The attorney needs to be skilled in the area in which you need representation. Family law is different from many other practices of law and requires individuals who can excel in this unique area.
It is critical that the family lawyer you choose have the same philosophical approach to accomplishing your goals.
Ultimately you must be comfortable with, not only your lawyer's skill level and experience, but his or her philosophy. Unlike large corporations and/or insurance companies who are simply writing a check, this decision will impact your monthly budget, your property, your children and your family in a significant way. As a result, you should have both professional and financial confidence in the lawyer you select.
